Responsibilities:
The Environmental Health & Safety Manager will develop and carryout procedures that effectively control accident, environmental health, and security exposures in the Company in line with OSHA, EPA, DEC, DHS, and Regulatory compliance.
Focus on the Vision of Zero as it relates to injuries, process incidents and environmental incidents.
Also, lead efforts to improve process effectiveness in the areas of safety and environment.
Lead, direct and train plant supervision, and employees to comply with all applicable laws.
Will be an active member of the Plant Leadership Team.
Responsible for supporting the philosophy, The Goal is Zero.
The purpose is to have Zero injuries, Zero process incidents, Zero distribution incidents, and Zero environmental incidents.
Must know, analyze, and interpret current and proposed state, federal and local regulations to determine potential impact on the plant.
Responsible for all EHS programs on site including Work Permits, Industrial Hygiene, Workers Comp, Incident Investigation, etc.
Manages the Plant EHS programs (including PSM) to enforce regulations and to provide assistance to the plant in reducing risks and accidents.
Will prioritize concerns and justify capital or expense that needs to be spent to reduce liability.
Prepares various government environmental reports such as SARA 312/313, EPCRA, RMP, CBS, PBS, and Air Emission Reports.
Corresponds with appropriate agencies to obtain necessary wastewater/air emission permits and certificates; ensures compliance through training & engaging the site employees to participate in inspections.
Serves as Environmental Coordinator for the facility.
Develops, implement, and maintain Hazardous and Non-hazardous Waste Management program.
Performs RCRA training and other regulatory training as needed.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or closely related degree required.
Minimum 5 years environmental safety and health management experience in chemical industry Must have a working knowledge of Title V, RCRA, SARA, OSHA, TSCA, PSM, RMP, RC14001 principles.
Demonstrated leadership skills running a safety and health function.
Demonstrated ability to improve safety programs and culture.
CSP, CIH, or other professional safety and health certification desired.
Salary:
$115,000 per year.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
